A Link To The Past

When Fox and Krystal were going through the rounds, they see Tiny wearing what is rather formidable and in a way intimidating armor. When the McClouds inquired about the gear, Tiny explains that that this was the Infantry gear of his people, the Kudai.

According to Tiny, the Kudai is a race of giants like him and at one time, they were the scourge of the Sindusan sector of the Galaxy.

The Kudai were ruled by the dictator Gant of Kudan to prop up his oppressive and ruthless regime. Designed to be loyal, intelligent and supremely tough, the Kudai were the ultimate soldiers and no one stood against them successfully. The Kudai had reflexes three times faster than
a normal human, and their muscles were three times stronger, weight-for-weight; these qualities, combined with their massive size, made them impossible to deal
with in hand-to-hand situations or close quarter combat.

The Kudai were also trained for aggression, and in battle were capable of insane levels of determination and destructiveness. A Kudai soldier relishes fighting, it is
what he is, literally, trained for.

Eventually the Kudai, being essentially good men, realised the evil in their master and overcame their natural loyalty. This was hard for them, but they overthrew and killed Gant and then set about a war of liberation, setting free the worlds they had conquered for Gant and establishing them as democratic societies. The Kudai returned home to live in peace, but then had to fight a war against the humans they had liberated on Kudan, Tiny's home world, as they feared the Kudai and tried to exterminate them. The resulting war was short and bloody, and the Kudai won, even though heavily outnumbered. With their intelligence and
natural talents the Kudai tactical officers always turned the battles into close quarter fights, with inevitable results. Expelling rather than slaughtering the surviving humans, the Kudai settled down to a much sought-after peace.

Although essentially not lovers of war, the Kudai were ever prepared, and developed a somewhat conformist, highly militarized society. The heavy level of discipline was needed to counter their naturally aggressive natures, and keep the level of violence in their society to an acceptable level. Competitive sports became their most common outlets for aggression, and martial arts competitions were extremely popular. With their genetic make-up designed for
fighting, the Kudai became men of peace, but they remained always ready to fight to defend themselves and sometimes their neighbours.

Fox and Krystal can see that knowing that Tiny must've been born after the revolution. Although Tiny was more than willing to tell their history, he was saddened for those who lost their lives in the process. But Fox and Krystal know that Tiny's sentimental side and compassion would make those of the Kudai very proud.

Tiny also hopes that the armor he's wearing won't be needed for a long time.
